What is a glycolic peel?
A glycolic peel uses glycolic acid to loosen and remove dull, dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Removing that top layer can leave your skin looking smoother, brighter and more even.
What is it used for?
A glycolic peel is a good option if your skin looks dull or tired, feels rough, has an uneven tone, or has sun spots or blemishes. Results vary from person to person, and some skin concerns need more than one peel.
What happens at your appointment?
Your therapist will look at your skin and ask about your skincare routine, any skin conditions and any medication.
We'll then choose the strength of the peel to suit your skin type and how sensitive it is.
The peel is applied to a cleansed face, left on for a set time and then removed.
Before your peel
Tell your therapist if you’re pregnant, using strong skincare products or skin medication, or have sunburn or any skin irritation. They may advise you to wait or to choose a different treatment.
What is a glycolic peel?
Your skin may look pink or feel slightly tight, and some people notice flaking for a few days.
Use sun protection (SPF) every day, avoid strong skincare products until your skin has settled, and don’t pick or scrub at flaking skin.
